She is currently a PhD researcher at Central Saint Martins, University of the Arts London. Her research explores how community-centred approaches can activate and reinterpret cultural heritage.
Yehong holds a MA in Design: Expanded Practice from Goldsmiths, University of London. Since graduating in 2023, she has worked as a learning facilitator on the MA Design programme. Her recent talks include MORE THAN PARTICIPATORY, which explores how listening, co-creation and continuous learning from the communities can shape meaningful participatory practices; and DESIGN AS PRACTICE, which frames design as a socially engaged, responsive and evolving process rooted in mutual learning, care and collaboration. As part of her teaching, Yehong also supports the learning journeys of students with hearing differences, contributing to a more inclusive and accessible learning environment.
She is one of the lead curators and producers at Canal Dream Community Interest Company, where she co-organises large-scale public art festivals that transform London’s waterways into vibrant, inclusive creative spaces. These projects have partnered with organisations such as the London Design Festival, Global Generation, and the IWA Canalway Cavalcade.
She is also the co-founder of Luckypot Art Space, an independent initiative that supports underrepresented artists by providing space, visibility and a sense of community.
Recent projects include a residency programme at Casa de Saúde do Telhal, a psychiatric hospital in Sintra, Portugal. Ongoing exhibition IDENTITY & COMMUNITY – IMPRESSION EXPRESSION showcases a collaborative project with users of the hospital. It explores the theme of self-image through creative expression, supporting healing processes and empowering personal narratives.
